On Saturday evening, a man discovered that his car and children had been stolen from the driveway. A few minutes later, two students were arrested.
Birmingham (UK) – The absolute nightmare of all parents: you don’t look for a second and the children are gone.
This is exactly what happened to a man from Birmingham on Saturday night – in his own driveway!
At around 5:00 pm, he panicked and reported the West Midlands police about the “shocking incident”.
His car was stolen. But that’s not all! His two and four year old children were in the back seat at the time of the theft!
“Operators from the Operations, Transportation and Firearms Department were immediately dispatched along with our canine units and the helicopter to take part in the search,” police said in a statement.
Fortunately, it didn’t take long for the first clue to arrive.
Like the British newspaper The Guardian reported, the stolen Seat Leon was spotted just a few minutes after the theft, as it was driving the wrong way on a main street.
Shortly afterwards, he was stopped by armed officers.
And they could hardly believe their eyes when the doors of the car opened – the suspects were still children themselves! The perpetrators turned out to be 15-year-olds.
Although they tried to flee, the police quickly arrested them and arrested them.
Now they have to answer for suspected theft and child abduction.
“Fortunately, the children were safe in the car and could be reunited with their parents on the street,” the police continue to report.
“This type of incident is any parent’s worst nightmare, but luckily we were able to stop the car and reunite the family less than 15 minutes after it was stolen.”
