Grobogan Floods Disrupt Semarang-Surabaya Train Service, Paralyze Roads

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Heavy rains in Grobogan Regency, Central Java, led to the collapse of the Tuntang River embankment, resulting in widespread flooding. Dozens of villages were inundated, and crucial infrastructure, including the Semarang-Surabaya train line and major roads, were severely impacted.

According to Masrikan, Head of the Prevention and Preparedness Division at the Grobogan Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), the train line was not merely submerged but effectively transformed into a river due to the strong current of floodwaters.
