European leaders have insisted they shouldn’t be sidelined after US President Donald Trump said he’d agreed to negotiate an end to the war in Ukraine with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
Mr Trump said he and Russian president Vladimir Putin agreed by phone to begin negotiations on ending the war in Ukraine and will “work together, very closely”.
