Stephen Kenny has hit back at former Ireland player Ian Harte over comments made by the ex-Leeds United man in relation to League of Ireland clubs selling players to the UK and also Kenny’s own managerial career with the former Ireland boss labelling Harte an “empty vessel”.
In quotes issued by a blog attached to a UK betting company on Wednesday Harte, who is now an agent for players including teenager Kyle Fitzgerald who moved from Galway United to Newcastle United last week, said the stance of LOI clubs in demanding higher transfer fees from English clubs was “killing young lads’ chances of making a career in the game”.
