Land searches resume for missing Co Kerry farmer

Land searches have resumed in Co Kerry for the missing sheep and cattle farmer, Michael Gaine.

The 56-year-old is now missing for eight days.

Close to his farmyard at Carrig East, near Kenmare, a team of over twenty volunteers began a grid search of lands above his farm on the N71 just before 11am.

A garda remained on duty at the entrance to the farmland as a small Garda team continued the search of lands near the farm buildings where earlier in the week slurry was removed and excavation works carried out.

Kerry Mountain Rescue (KMR) and SARDA search and rescue dogs have also resumed a search of lands between Carrig East in Kenmare and Moll’s Gap.
