The Dallas Wings selected UConn star Paige Bueckers with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft on Monday.
Bueckers fills the Wings’ need for a dynamic point guard and gives the club a one-two punch in the backcourt alongside Arike Ogunbowale.
She’s the first Husky player since Breanna Stewart in 2016 to be taken with the top selection. The Minnesota native averaged 19.8 points, 4.7 boards, 4.6 assists, and 2.1 steals over four seasons in Storrs. She recently helped UConn snap its nine-year national title drought.
