A member of An Garda Síochána has been hospitalised following an incident at Shannon Airport on Saturday afternoon.
Gardaí say they responded to an incident of criminal damage at the airport just after 4pm.
Three women, aged between 20 and 50, breached the perimeter fence of the airport and caused criminal damage to a parked plane.
The three women were subsequently arrested at scene and are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Garda stations in Co Clare.
During the course of the arrests, one member of An Garda Síochána was injured. She has since since been taken to University Hospital Limerick for assessment.
