There is a bizarre report coming out of England, which implies that someone at Bayern Munich killed the club’s hopes for signing Florian Wirtz.
Previously, reports indicated that Bayern Munich has an inconsistent plan for Wirtz with the executives communicating one thing and Kompany stating another. There were also reports that Liverpool FC’s Arne Slot simply had a better vision and sales pitch for Wirtz.
This report from Express, however, paints a slightly different picture — one where someone (presumably head coach Vincent Kompany) — might have told Wirtz that he would not start centrally in the attack:
