Sunday’s 5-3 loss against the New York Mets dropped the Rockies to 9-50 on the season, making them the first team in baseball’s modern era (1901 onward) to reach 50 losses before 10 wins.
Colorado has lost eight straight games and 13 of its last 14.
The Rockies recently set the record for the worst 50-game start in the modern era by starting the season 8-42. The club’s active streak of 22 straight series losses dating back to last year is also a league record.
Colorado holds a minus-185 run differential and is on pace to finish the season 25-137, which would shatter the record for most losses in a 162-game season (121) set by the Chicago White Sox in 2024.
