Vietnam’s top leader To Lam has been reappointed as head of the ruling Communist Party for the next five years, as he pledges to turbocharge growth in the export-reliant nation.
The vote to re-elect him by the 180 party officials of the central committee was unanimous, according to an announcement at the party congress.
The central committee of the one-party state is formed every five years to choose the next leader of the party congress.
In an address to the congress, Mr Lam said he would maintain unity of the party and said there were huge tasks ahead.
