French president Emmanuel Macron is hosting a meeting of European leaders in Paris amid a deepening rift between Europe and the Trump administration.
It follows last week’s phone call between US President Donald Trump and Russia’s President Vladimir Putin on the future of Ukraine.
The meeting will be joined by the leaders of Germany, Italy, Spain, Poland, the Netherlands and Denmark.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will also be in attendance, as well as European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Council President Antonia Costa and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
Last night, Mr Trump said he expected to meet Mr Putin very soon….
