A Status Yellow rain warning has been issued for the south of the country as well as part of the west.
The alert is for counties Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Galway and Munster.
Met Éireann has warned of heavy rain and some thundery downpours which may result in spot flooding.
The warning will be in effect from 2pm today until 2pm tomorrow.
