Barry Manilow Postpones Tour Dates Following Lung Cancer Diagnosis and Recovery Challenges
Barry Manilow is prioritizing his health and has announced the postponement of the first leg of his 2026 arena tour. The 82-year-aged Grammy winner, who revealed his early-stage lung cancer diagnosis in December 2025, shared that he is still recovering and not yet fit to perform a full-length concert.
Diagnosis and Initial Treatment
Manilow was diagnosed with lung cancer in December 2025 after recovering from 11 weeks of bronchitis. An MRI revealed a cancerous spot on his left lung, requiring surgical removal . He underwent surgery in mid-January and initially expressed optimism about returning to the stage quickly.
Recent Setback and Postponement
However, a recent visit with his surgeon brought disappointing news. Manilow explained in an Instagram post on February 20, 2026, that his doctor advised against performing a 90-minute show at this time, stating his lungs “aren’t ready yet” . Despite being in “great shape” considering his diagnosis, Manilow acknowledged his body needed more time to recover.
Manilow is rescheduling the first 13 shows of his arena tour, originally scheduled from February 27th to March 17th .
Looking Ahead
His doctor indicated that Manilow may be able to perform his scheduled shows in Las Vegas from March 26th-28th and April 2nd-4th. He remains hopeful about resuming the tour with the second batch of arena shows beginning in April .
“I’m SO, SO sorry I have to reschedule some of these first Arena shows. Again!” Manilow wrote on Instagram. “But when I do come back I will COME BACK!!!”
As of February 23, 2026, Manilow’s website still lists sold-out U.S. Concert dates for mid- to late-April .
