The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) on Saturday said on Saturday said a new batch of Filipinos are on their way home, amid the ongoing war in the Middle East.
As of press time, OWWA Administrator Patricia Yvonne “PY” Caunan is in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, together with members of the OWWA Rapid Response Team, in leading the repatriation of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) back to the country.
The OWWA said that 80 OFWs from Bahrain and 99 OFWs from Kuwait safely arrived in the Saudi capital for their repatriation, while an undisclosed number of OFWs for Qatar are also being assisted by an OWWA team to Riyadh.
