A Parisian restaurant will accept payment in cryptocurrency

The Indiana Café located in Bercy Village has just entered into a partnership with the fintech Lyzi, allowing its customers to pay their bill in cryptocurrencies.

After the Beaugrenelle center, it is the turn of a Parisian restaurant to announce that it will now be possible to pay on site in cryptocurrencies. This is the Indiana café located in Bercy Village, which has just entered into a partnership with the payment startup Lyzi.

It is a “first step before a global deployment for the entire network”, underlines a joint press release.

“While it is currently complex for a merchant or restaurateur to accept payments in cryptocurrencies given the volatility of the prices, Lyzi responds to this problem by offering a reversion in local currency directly to the professional’s account at no cost, daily. Thus, the customer indicates the amount in euros on the application and the equivalent in cryptocurrency is displayed on the screen generating a QR Code. The restaurateur only has to scan the QR Code to validate the transaction and be paid in euros”, underlines the press release.

Fintech Lyzi, which is not registered as a digital asset provider (PSAN) with the Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF), relies on provider Zebitex, which obtained PSAN registration last year. latter, both for the digital asset custody service and as a digital asset trading platform. Lizy therefore offers a payment functionality in 21 cryptocurrencies as well as loyalty and cashback offers.

“Retail and catering are sectors that are part of the daily life of the French and tend to accelerate the adoption of this method of payment. Through these two test projects, we aim to demonstrate the simplicity of payment in crypto and allow these brands to capture new customers,” said Damien Patureaux, boss of Lyzi.

For his part, Olivier Dutertre, Master franchisee of the Indiana Café brand, hopes to “expand his clientele, with an active community, very aware of trends”.
