Two sets of classified documents have been found so far, one in Washington and the other at Biden’s home in Delaware.
The Department of Justice has appointed former federal prosecutor Robert Hur as counsel to oversee the investigation.
Those documents were not supposed to be in Biden’s possession. He had them from his time as vice president of Barack Obama and the US law prohibits keeping them after six years have passed since leaving office.
The United States Attorney General, Merrick Garland, has appointed former prosecutor Robert Hur as an adviser to investigate these documents now known as ‘the Biden papers’.
The pressure on Biden mounts, the law prevents these documents from leaving the White House or the National Archives. There are many unknowns. It is unknown what type of documents they are and what information they contain. The President of the United States himself has acknowledged feeling ‘Surprised’ for the discovery of those documents in his home and in his old office in Washington, which he used since he left the vice presidency in 2017 and during the 2020 electoral campaign, with which he reached the White House.
The Biden Administration has not revealed the content of these papers so far, but classified documents on international relations with Iran, Ukraine or the United Kingdom were found in the first batch.
From the first discovery in the offices, to this second in his house in Delaware, two months and a legislative election have passed. That is another of the questions. Why did it take two months to reveal the second finding?
