Yesterday, at the icon case of the icon of the Mother of God of the Sign and Prince Alexander Nevsky, which is part of the memorial complex “Those killed in the defense of the Fatherland”, a meeting of relics took place on the border of the Tver and Novgorod regions. Then, in the Iversky Monastery, Matins was served in the Cathedral of the Iversky Icon of the Mother of God. The service was led by Bishop Arseny.

– Today we meet part of the holy relics of the Blessed Prince Alexander Nevsky as the heirs of the most ancient Novgorodians, with whom he was the Grand Duke. We accept him with humility and love as our intercessor and intercessor for the entire Russian land. It is very significant that this event coincides with the feast (appearance) of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. Both one celebration in honor of the Kazan icon, and the life of Prince Alexander Nevsky, which was several centuries earlier, prompted our compatriots, in appropriate historical conditions, to show the heroic deeds of the struggle for their faith, their land, love for God and neighbors, courage and the best qualities of our people who contributed to the strengthening of Russian statehood, not to mention the strengthening of the Orthodox world. Today we turn to the noble prince and pray to him to strengthen us in love for God and our neighbors, in loyalty to Him and our Fatherland. We also pray to the Most Pure Theotokos, whose image we honor today, so that under Her Cover all misfortunes and troubles pass by, and we would keep our faith and love for God and our neighbors, – he turned bishop Arseny to the faithful with the archpastoral.
