With Alaska MileagePlan there shouldn’t be a new mileage table for existing Oneworld partners …
Alaska MileagePlan has a very idiosyncratic system of the miles table. There are different mileage values for each partner airline and each regional route. What does not appear in the table does not exist either. Highlights are Cathay Pacific and JAL First or Business Redemptions.
At the end of March Alaska joins Oneworld and there was a lot of speculation on a new general table of miles – and maybe a devaluation. It doesn’t seem to happen that way. They want to keep the mileage values of the previous Oneworld partners.
Viewfromthewing.boardingarea.com got the following information from Alaska MileagePlan:
“There are no planned changes to current oneworld partner award pricing for March 31.”
Furthermore, this information speaks in favor of maintaining a selective table of miles for each regional route and partner.
