Andrew Shue distances himself from Amy Robach, the drama of TJ Holmes

Keep it private. Andrew Shue keeps the space between him and his ex-wife, Amy Robachamid his relationship scandal with GMA3 co-host T. J. Holmes.

“[Andrew and his family] distance themselves from the situation [with Amy and T.J.]”, says a source exclusively We Weeklyadding that it would be “very surprising” if Shue, 55, made a public statement regarding the affair between his ex-wife, 49, and Holmes, 45.

The co-presenters turned heads in November 2022 when photos surfaced showing the duo getting cozy on several occasions. Amid news of their romance, the pair were put on hiatus from the third hour of hello america as ABC conducts an internal investigation.

Last month, an insider revealed to We that the colleague’s connection “has grown from a close friendship” to something more. “They’ve always had a spark and their work trips together have brought them even closer,” the source shared at the time. “[They] tried to keep their relationship a secret until they were ready to announce.

Following news of the scandal, Shue, who married Robach in 2010, deleted all traces of the TV reporter from her Instagram account. However, despite the scandal, the insider recounts We that the wonderful years alum and his family are “doing well, moving forward and staying positive” amid the drama.

Prior to her relationship with Robach, Shue was married to Jennifer Hageney from 1994 to 2008. They expanded their family with Nate, Aidan and Wyatt before their separation. Meanwhile, Robach exchanged vows with Tim McIntosh in 1996 and they welcomed their daughters Ava and Analise, born in 2002 and 2006 respectively, before their divorce in 2008.

Although neither Shue nor his family has publicly commented on the scandal, the Delaware native’s son, Nate, shared a rare glimpse of the brood late last week.

“RIDERS ON THE STORM. ON TO ’23,” the 26-year-old captioned a Dec. 28 Instagram photo of the family on a getaway in Montana. In social media uploading, the Place Melrose alum was also joined by his sons Aiden and Wyatt.

Prior to their split, Shue and Robach often offered insight into their family life. “We spend money on experiences and not on material things. These things can be forgotten,” the former 20/20 anchor says We in 2017. “Seeing a Broadway show with my daughters for Christmas instead of buying them clothes has proven to be one of the most meaningful ways to spend my money and time. Memories cannot be broken or restored.

Shue, meanwhile, shared what made the mixed brood a tightly-knit unit. At least five nights a week we sit down to dinner together,” he explained to We at the time. “And we spend one-on-one time with each child. It really changes the relationship. It doesn’t have to be extravagant, but it is rewarding.

Although the Dartmouth University alum chose not to comment on the scandal, Holmes’ wife, Marilee Fiebigbroke her silence on Wednesday, Jan. 4, after the Arkansas native filed for divorce on Dec. 29.

“During the holiday season and in light of difficult times, Marilee has focused solely on the general interest of her 9-year-old daughter,” Fiebig’s attorney said. Stephanie Lehman Told We in a report. “To that end, TJ’s attorney and I worked together to move their divorce forward privately, quickly, and as amicably as possible.”

The lawyer continued: “Nevertheless, we continue to be disappointed by TJ’s lack of discretion, respect and sensitivity towards Marilee and the party girl. Marilee has been touched by the outpouring of support and looks forward to a fresh start in the new year.
