Asdrúbal Cabrera signs with Diamondbacks of Arizona

PHOENIX._ The Arizona Diamondbacks added some versatility and balance to their lineup, signing Venezuelan Asdrubal Cabrera to a one-year contract. The contract is worth $ 1.75 million, plus $ 1.05 million in incentives, according to a baseball source.
To make room for Cabrera at the 40th roster, Arizona placed right-hander Luis Frías on the disabled list.
Cabrera, 35, hit .242 / .305 / .446 in 2020 with the Nationals.
During a 14-year career in the majors, Cabrera has played in each of the four infield positions. With Ketel Marte slated to play a lot in center field this year, Cabrera represents another infield option.
