Betis have rejected Aston Villa’s first proposal to sign Álex Moreno but it seems that the English will insist on signing the defender. Upon his arrival Unai Emery demanded to strengthen several positions, being the winger one of his priorities.
The Basque already had him in his sights when he was managing Villarreal and now he wants to add him to his new adventure in the Premier League. However, it will not be a simple operation and it is that the player renewed just a year ago and is a fixture in Manuel Pellegrini’s schemes.
On the other hand, the Verdiblanco club knows that it needs the entry of pounds to balance the accounts and continue adding new assets to the squad, so Moreno’s departure would help alleviate its financial needs.
Right now from Birmingham they are offering €10M plus variables, a figure that is far from the €20M that Betis demands. In any case, it seems that the three parties are doomed to understand each other and everything indicates that Aston Villa will raise the offer in the coming weeks.
