Australian power for the defensive line

Joel Maddock will strengthen RAIDERS Tirol in the coming European League of Football season. The 29-year-old Australian can do one impressive football CV.

“I’m very excited to have signed with such a high quality organization as the Raiders. I’m really looking forward to meeting all my teammates and getting to work to win the championship,” Maddock said in a first statement.

Maddock began his career in his native Australia, gaining his first field experience with the Bayside Ravens. From 2013 to 2017, the defensive lineman played in the USA – first at Arizona Western College (2013-2015) and finally at Central Connecticut State University at NCAA Division 1 level. Maddock hit Europe in 2018 when he settled in Marburg and went quarterback hunting for the Mercenaries. He returned to the Bayside Ravens for the past two seasons.

His strong performances earned him invitations to the NFL & CFL International Combine, among other things. Last year, Maddock was voted an All Star and was the sack league leader. Between 2017 and 2022, he consistently appeared in the top 5 in sacks and tackles for loss in each league.

“I am thrilled to have Joel on board. Unfortunately he couldn’t play for us last year and now it worked. He is just as happy and highly motivated. He will integrate well into the team and strengthen our already strong DL group. Silver and Black will suit him well. Welcome to the Raiders family,” said RAIDERS head coach Kevin Herron enthusiastically.
