The Ball State soccer Cardinals won the Arizona Bowl in Tucson this afternoon (Thursday) by defeating Mountain West champion San Jose State, 34-13.
Ball State soccer fans probably think a month of Sundays makes it onto the calendar. After all, it has been a long wait. This is the first victory for FBS, a major college bowl in the school’s history. The Cardinals defeated a good, solid San Jose State University team 27-0 at the end of the first quarter and held the Spartans 22 at bay in the rankings for a three-touchdown victory.
Look for Ball State to finish its season in the Top 25, as this is the second undefeated ranked team the Cards have defeated; Buffalo was the first to lose to BSU when the Bulls were 6-and-0, in the Top 25, in the Mid-American Conference championship game. San Jose state was 7-0, and the Mountain West Conference champions, ranked 22nd, entered the Arizona Bowl
