Bielsa suffers his first historical role with Leeds

Leeds, Marcelo Bielsa’s team, suffered a tough elimination in the FA Cup today after losing 3-0 away to Crawley Town, of the fourth division of English football.

With a team made up of starters and some regular substitutes, the “Loco” team quickly said goodbye to the traditional tournament after a poor performance against a humble club that plays in League Two, the fourth division of English football.

Leeds were once again an unbalanced team and for the second game they received three goals against as they came from the defeat (3-0) against Tottenham in the Premier League.

Crawley Town, who ranks sixth in the fourth division, made the difference in the second half with goals from Nicholas Tsaroulla, at 5, Ashley Nadesan, at 8, and Jordan Tunnnicliffe, at 25.

The team represents the homonymous city that belongs to the district of West Sussex, located 45 kilometers south of London.

The FA Cup is a pending debt for Bielsa since in previous editions he also lost in the first instance: in 2019 he was eliminated by Queens Park Rangers (2-1) and in 2020 they fell to Arsenal (1-0).

The day also had the victory of Manchester City, without Sergio Agüero, over Birmingham, of the second division, 3-0.

The Portuguese Bernardo Silva, twice, and Philip Foden scored the goals of the team led by the Spanish Josep Guardiola, who did not summon “Kun” Agüero for this commitment.

Chelsea, with goalkeeper Wilfredo Caballero on the substitute bench, had no trouble advancing as they thrashed fourth-division Morecambe 4-0 at Stamford Bridge.
