ARIZONA- The body of a California woman who was reported missing Monday was found under the rim of Grand Canyon National Park.
National Park officials said the body was located near the Trailview Overlook along Hermit Road on Tuesday.
The victim was identified as Lillian Meyn, 31, of Woodside, California.
The Grand Canyon National Park staff ask all visitors to have a safe visit by walking the designated trails and always maintaining a safe distance around the edges.
Recovery teams located the woman’s body about 300 feet below the edge.
Meyn was reported missing Monday by a family member and her vehicle was found on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon near Bright Angel Lodge that same day.
The National Park Service and the Coconino Medical Examiner are investigating the incident.
Authorities confirmed that 48 passengers were on board.
