Canadian coach told how he was shocked by an outdoor toilet on the way to Magnitogorsk

The 53-year-old coach spoke on the Spittin Chiclets podcast about the bus ride from Ufa to the match in Magnitogorsk. It was on this track that he got scared when he first saw an outdoor toilet in Russia.

“In the United States, fast food restaurants like McDonald’s operate on the highways, and in Russia people set up tables along the road and sell, for example, fish. We stopped at the same place. I asked where the toilet was. They showed me, I came, and there was a hole in the ground. Take off your pants and go, no toilet paper,” Montgomery recalled.

The Canadian coach immediately thought about how the hero of the film “The Shawshank Redemption” climbed through hundreds of meters of the same substance in order to be free.

“I almost got sick. I went and did my business in a package,” summed up the Canadian.

We add that Montgomery played for Salavat Yulaev in the 2003-2004 season. In total, he played 20 matches for the Ufa club, in which he scored 7 assists.
