A manhunt for escaped Alabama murder suspect Casey Cole White and a senior female corrections officer named Vicky White accused of helping him continued Tuesday.

Authorities say the two are not related.

Casey White and Vicky White were last seen Friday driving a 2007 copper-colored Ford Edge SUV with damage to the rear bumper, law enforcement officials said. The license plate was not immediately available.

The two may be armed with an AR-15 and shotgun, investigators warned, and Vicky White likely had access to her service handgun.

Vicky White is described as being 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing about 145 pounds. She has blond hair and brown eyes.

Casey White is described as being 6 feet 9 inches tall and weighing around 260 pounds. He has multiple tattoos including a sleeve on his right arm that includes the Nazi SS logo.

He faces the death penalty if convicted in his pending murder case, which he allegedly confessed to before pleading guilty to insanity.

At 9:41 a.m., the couple exits the jail, allegedly telling the booking clerk that she is the only available deputy with a firearms certificate, according to a schedule provided by investigators.

Eight minutes later, the sheriff said, Vicky White’s police vehicle appeared on surveillance video pulling into a mall parking lot.

“The squad car exited the detention center and drove straight to the parking lot,” Sheriff Singleton said Monday. “They didn’t have enough time to even try to get to the courthouse.”

Several hours passed before MPs attempted to reach Vicky White by phone and reported the calls went straight to voicemail. They also discovered that Casey White never arrived at the courthouse or returned to his cell.

The jailer and murder suspect were last seen driving the copper-colored Ford Edge that day.

“Casey White is considered a serious threat to the correctional officer and the public,” U.S. Marshal Marty Keely said in a statement.

In addition to pending murder charges, Casey White previously served a 75-year sentence in 2015 for a violent crime streak that included the attempted murder of his ex-girlfriend, multiple stolen cars and the execution of a dog.

“He stated that he wanted to kill her and have the police kill her,” according to a police report from December of the same year. “His only regret was that none were successful. He stated that if released, he would kill the victim.”

Sheriff Singleton announced a new arrest warrant for Vicky White, who he said may have been coerced or manipulated into taking part in the conspiracy.

“To do it voluntarily would be so out of character for the Vicky White we all know,” he said.

According to the sheriff, she sold her house about a month ago and has been talking about moving to the beach for months.

Tuesday May 3rd

The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office announced that investigators had confirmed a “special relationship” between Vicky White and Casey White after receiving tips from other inmates.

“This relationship has now been confirmed by our investigation through independent sources and agents,” authorities said.

They also revealed details about the couple’s last known whereabouts in Rogersville, Alabama, who drove the Ford Edge and may have been armed with a semi-automatic rifle and shotgun.

Wednesday May 4th

Sheriff Singleton announces that Vicky White is officially “no longer an employee of the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office.”

Her upcoming retirement is a “personnel issue” that would be discussed at a later date, but although her last scheduled date was April 29, she had neglected to complete her retirement papers.

Thursday May 5th

Casey White and Vicky White “were in contact by phone between 2020 and 2022” while the inmate was in custody at the William E. Donaldson Correctional Facility in Bessemer, Alabama, Sheriff Singleton said in an emailed press statement Thursday .

Casey White was transferred from the Donaldson facility to the Lauderdale County Detention Center in 2020 after confessing to the 2015 killing of Connie Ridgeway. The couple met there and kept in touch after rejoining Donaldson between 2020 and 2022.

He was taken back to the county jail in February this year to await trial.

The facilities are a little over 110 miles apart.
