During the end-of-year celebrations, the princely couple formed by Charlene and Albert of Monaco went discreetly to Florida for an important event.

The presence of Princess Charlene and Prince Albert of Monaco in the city of Fort Lauderdale, in the United States, had not been announced or relayed by the press “for security reasons”. After articles published in international media and numerous speculations, the Princess Charlene Foundation communicated this week the reason for this trip, which until now has remained secret.

The foundation posted several photos on social media on Monday announcing that the Monegasque couple were present to inaugurate their new world-renowned aquatic center. The parents of Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella have indeed invested several million dollars in this renovation project in order to announce its official opening at the beginning of the year.

A PRINCELY COUPLE PASSIONATE ABOUT THE AQUATIC ENVIRONMENT

A great nautical enthusiast, Prince Albert II received an honorary medal from the International Swimming Hall of Fame in 2011 by the city of Fort Lauderdale. For her part, Princess Charlene of Monaco is a former Olympic swimmer who works to save the lives of children by teaching them to swim, and to raise awareness of water safety thanks to the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation, founded in 2012.

In appreciation for their support and in recognition of their dedication to keeping children safe in the water, the Mayor of Fort Lauderdale presented the Prince with the Keys to the City and his wife a crystal vase engraved with an image of the diving tour of the aquatic center.

A partnership between the Princess Charlene Foundation and Fort Lauderdale has also been revealed.
