Colleville-Montgomery. Le Vivier is committed to the fight against plastic waste

The idea

Every year, 600,000 tonnes of plastic are thrown into the sea. Plastic bags represent 40 to 50% of this waste. At Le Vivier, we thought of reusable packaging to pick up your oysters: recycled plastic buckets.

“Customers feared for their car, which forced us to stack the plastic bags. We have thought about a more eco-responsible solution. My wife had the buckets personalized to our Lobster Gang brand [La bande du homard]. As the celebrations have passed and the tasting hut cannot reopen immediately, we have a little more time for management and communication ”, explains Fabien Colleville, owner of the shop.

For each bucket purchased, one euro is donated to the Surfrider Europe foundation which, for more than 25 years, has been working daily to fight against damage to the coastal environment and its users. In addition, to promote short circuits, a partnership has been concluded with the artisanal cannery La Çédille d’Ouistreham, which makes rillettes from seafood according to recipes offered by Fabien.
