The registration lists have been disclosed for the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, UK. The lists are divided by event and by country.
For all races there is a warning: Entries must go through a confirmation process and are still subject to change. For example, Isaac Cooper is still enrolled in the 50s and 100s backstroke despite being sent home by Swimming Australia for health reasons.
While the entries are not final, we can still see the initial decisions made by some of the best athletes heading to Birmingham.
Summer McIntosh he opted for the 400 medley instead of the 200 freestyle, as he did at the World Cup. In Budapest, this choice worked well. He won the 400 medley and led the Canadian 4 × 200 style relay with 1: 54.79, setting another junior world record. His other individual competitions are the 400 freestyle, 200 medley and 200 butterfly.
The Australian Kaylee McKeown is enrolled in five races and will participate in the 200 and 400 medley and all three backstroke races. In particular, she has given up on the 100 backstroke at the World Championships (where she is the world record holder) to focus on the 200 medley.
