Covid: the Premier League calendar reshaped

(ANSA) – ROME, JAN 11 – The Premier League changes program: it is the effect of Covid, which forces the FA to reshape the calendar based on the needs of the team, for weeks again forced to deal with positive athletes to the virus. The match between Aston Villa and Tottenham, which should have been played on Wednesday 13 January, has been postponed after the request of the ‘Villains’ of Birmingham, whose squad is scourged by Covid-19. Instead of the Birmingham match, José Mourinho’s Tottenham will play anyway, but in one of the countless London derbies, against Fulham. This game, originally scheduled for December 30 last year, had been moved. The change in progress, consequently, leads to the displacement of another London derby, the one between Fulham and Chelsea, which will no longer be played on 15, but on 16 January. New positions on the calendar also for Aston Villa-Everton, which will no longer be played on Saturday 16th January, but the day after, namely Sunday 17th. (ANSA).
