Christian Sands, who comes from New Haven, Connecticut, is considered a rising star in the firmament of contemporary jazz pianists: the 33-year-old accompanied singer Gregory Porter and worked in bassist Christian McBride’s band, but he was also with his own trio very early on present: Sands presented his debut “Footprints” at the tender age of 13.
