Everyone in Fort Lauderdale has already wondered what this yellow brick cabin along US1 is, especially since, in the evening, its small terrace is always full. When you go inside, it’s not the same…. it’s much more “Versailles” than “Cabane”, especially because of the large chandeliers everywhere. Mario is bound to be there and don’t tell him that you thought it was a cabin! But it’s true that it’s all in length and that, without going into it… we can’t know! The atmosphere is cozy and the walls are so laden with paintings that you quickly forget them. There is a little Parisian side, or “old Cuban” in Mario Flores.
Its cuisine is definitely Cuban, Spanish and Latin, and connoisseurs flock there (be careful at the end of the week it is better to book)! He, Mario, is originally from Honduras, and he’s been at this place in Lauderdale since 2004! There’s a bar (the best sangria in town), but of course it’s the dishes you’re here for: from the impressive paella to the grilled snapper and the pork cooked in all the Latin sauces: Cubano’s by Mario is the opposite of what is too often found in Fort Lauderdale (tourist traps). We highly recommend it. And the dessert platter is impressive (indulge in the tres leches)! Finally, but this is a very important asset: Mario and his team have a real friendly personality which gives the place an extra cachet!
