The Mexican team de futbol announced that, prior to Qatar 2022, it will play three friendly matches, two of them will be in the United States and the third in Catalonia, Spain.
On Saturday, September 24, El Tri will face Peru at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California; while three days later, on September 27, they will face Colombia at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, also in California.
Already in November, a few days before the opening of the Qatar 2022 World Cup, the team led by “Tata” Martino, will play against Sweden on the 16th of the month at the Montilivi stadium in Catalonia, Spain.
“Tickets for the two farewell games of the Mexican tour of the United States will go on sale through www.MexTour.org on Thursday, July 7 at 12:00 pm, Central Mexico time,” reported the country’s soccer authority.
The intention is to prepare the players so that they can arrive at their best moment for their appointment in the World Cup that, for the first time, takes place on winter days, due to the high temperatures that the Arab country experiences during the summer in which the World Cups are usually played.
If you are near any of the match venues, there is more good news, as the FMF (Mexican Soccer Federation) also announced that the Mex Tour will include events for fans and the media, including a Media Day for the farewell with an open training session for the fans.
At this time, tickets can already be purchased for the match against Paraguay, on August 31 in Atlanta, Georgia, which had already been announced in advance, with which there are 4 commitments for the team towards the World Cup, although none of these rivals will participate in Qatar, something different from previous processes.
Prior to Russia 2018, El Tri played a friendly match against Croatia and Denmark, who also participated in the World Cup. While, in preparation for Brazil 2014, Mexico faced Ecuador, Portugal and Bosnia who also went to the World Cup.
