Las Vegas Raiders 2022 season has been a flop and head coach Josh McDaniels has understood that. After the loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas Eve, the coach has decided replace Derek Carr with Jarrett Stidham as starting quarterback.
The head coach announced the move at a press conference that the movement will be for the last two games of the season: against the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs.
“We will start Jarrett in the last games of the season. Nobody is happy with the results. We think it’s an opportunity to evaluate a young player who hasn’t had a lot of time on the field,” McDaniels said.
McDaniels also noted that he had an opportunity to speak with Carr. According to his statement, three-time Pro Bowl invitee will do whatever it takes to help young players.
“I spoke to Derek who understands the scenario we’re in and has supported young players throughout the year. He will do everything he can to help us, ”explained the Raiders head coach.
