Devoted wife moves into a nursing home to be with her husband who suffers from dementia

True love has no limits when it comes to overcoming obstacles for the person you love. On social media, an elderly couple shocked millions when the wife went into a nursing home just to accompany her husband.

A love story that has touched many happened in the city of Birmingham, England, and was related by the granddaughter of the protagonists. Impressed and full of tenderness by the action of her grandmother, Charlotte Chapman told it on social networks without imagining the reactions she would have.

“Five weeks ago my grandfather was admitted to a nursing home and my grandmother could not live without him, so he decided to move and the care center did this for them”, wrote Chapman en Twitter.

The woman added a video to her post that shows how caregivers decorated the dining room to surprise her grandfather. He had no idea that his wife was moving. Seeing her, broke down in tears.

Kenneth Meredith began to suffer from dementia and his condition was getting worse, for which he was admitted. But his wife Betty missed him very much. They have been together for 71 years.

The center was decorated with large letters that spelled out the word love. Red hearts and balloons complemented the place. Seeing his wife, Kenneth stepped on his walker to reach her and crying began to hug and kiss her.

In a short time, the video of the loving encounter was reproduced more than 900 thousand times on social networks. It also generated hundreds of comments from people who celebrate the triumph of love, while others with family members in the same center emphasize that without a doubt the team there is exceptional.

Their embrace was extensive, proof of how much the two missed each other during the time they were apart. It was just over a month and they both had their hearts broken.

Betty asked if she could move in with him, as visits to the center are restricted by the coronavirus pandemic.

Days before, when she moved in, Betty was housed in the apartment below where her husband was, but she called him on the phone daily without revealing her location. In all this time they prepared the surprise for the great meeting which occurred a week after her arrival at the foster home.

The caregivers highlighted how incredibly happy and excited they were both. The couple couldn’t stop smiling, especially when Betty was finally able to share the same room as Kenneth. He couldn’t believe it.

In their 71 years of marriage, the couple had never separated. The state of Health Both began to deteriorate in August of last year, when one of his daughters died.

What is truly in the heart can never be forgotten. Kenneth and Betty know this, but also an old woman who despite her advanced Alzheimer’s disease felt the urge to move when she heard ‘Swan Lake’.

It is the story of Marta González. The impressive thing is that despite the illness, she managed to instinctively and heartly remember each of the movements she made when she was part of the New York ballet in 1967.

Hearing the melody, Marta began to dance. Her beautiful dance was recorded and became a sensation on YouTube, because when compared with the choreography of a dancer today, it is evident that she remembered each movement with precision.

The comments of the Internet users did not wait. Many admitted that they had cried from the emotion they felt when they saw her dance with such grace and beauty, because despite the years and the deterioration of her health, she remained a magnificent dancer.
