For many Düsseldorfers, the former McDonald’s branch in the old town is a place full of memories: the first meeting point to start the evening, the last point of contact at the end of the night, a youthful party hotspot for the Shrove Monday procession. Soon, however, visitors to the old town will no longer be frantically wolfing down nuggets and burgers, but feasting on doner kebabs and salad bowls – served at the table and therefore more expensive than usual.
