Dordogne man shot dead during ‘Peaky Blinders’ themed New Year’s Eve –

Investigations continue

A 27-year-old man was shot and killed by another who handled a gun on a New Year’s Eve with friends. The theme of the evening: the gangster series’Peaky Blinders‘with Cillian Muprhy.

As reported by the French press, about twenty young people born between 1991 and 1993, all former high school friends, had gathered in an isolated dwelling for a disguised party inspired by the British show. Around 9:30 p.m. (French time), a gunshot rang out, according to the Bergerac prosecutor, Odile de Fritsch.

The victim was shot in the chest. Once there, the emergency services could only note his death. The alleged shooter, also 27, was taken into custody in Bergerac. The investigation continues.

True story

Peaky Blindersis a British television series created by Steven Knight, broadcast on BBC Two, BBC One but also on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. The show follows the story of a family of criminals from the Traveler community. Nicknamed the ‘Peaky Blinders‘, they control Birmingham and its surroundings in the interwar period.
