Dylan Fraser: Dylan Fraser escapes the current heat and becomes a ‘vampire’

In the current heat, it is best to avoid daylight and how Dylan Fraser make: He becomes with his new song to „Vampire“ and thus releases the third strong harbinger of his upcoming EP “2030 Revolution“the am 17. August appears. The track in which the US musician Alaska Reid participates, is accompanied by a official music video, which was directed by Trash Factory and can be viewed below. Dylan and Alaska’s connection came about after the Scottish alternative/pop artist found out about her album Big Bunny (2020) and reached out to her online. They first met in person at a Charli XCX concert in late 2021 and deepened their bond, leading to a series of fruitful songwriting sessions. The result is “Vampire,” a song that explores the darker side of a relationship and deals with a phenomenon that many might not be unfamiliar with: we tend to take bad things out on those closest to us.

“It’s about the feeling that you feel like a bad person towards someone you love“, so Dylan Fraser. “When you love someone, you show that person every side of yourself, including the bad. I think sometimes you tend to lash out at the people you love the most. Which, of course, only happens because you feel safe enough around them to vent your frustration or anger. Afterwards, however, you sometimes feel like a bad person – that you’ve taken it a little too far or that it’s an impertinence. Or maybe even a vampire, a monster…

After Dylan Fraser last with A.G Cook (Charli XCX) by PC Music and Roddy McDonald (The xx) was in the studio for sessions, he played across the summer at various UK festivals including Barn on the Farm where he joined Holly Humberstone, JP Saxe, Maisie Peters, Flyte and Ber for a joint performance on stage. Earlier this month Fraser also made a guest appearance on the BBC1 program of Jack Saunders live from Maida Vale, where he performed alongside his latest single “It Took A Lot To Get To This“ also a cover version of Kate Bush’s viral hit „Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)“ presented (here listen).

On his upcoming, third overall EP „2030 Revolution“ the young Scot deals with the complex fears in the search for meaning. He offers us a fresh look at the uncertainties we all grapple with in the modern world.
