MIAMI, Jan. 11 (UPI) – Jaylen Waddle’s playing status for Monday night’s college football playoff national championship game will be determined during pre-game practice, coach Nick Saban said.

The wide receiver has not played since receiving a broken ankle on October 24. He was operated on two days later and trained this week for the first time since his injury.

“He was able to practice to a certain extent,” Saban said on Sunday. “I think the biggest challenge is [s’il] can support in the game.
