Elias Harris is leaving MHP RIESEN Ludwigsburg and moving to ACB in Spain. In return, Austin Wiley strengthens the Swabians.
Elias Harris has 15.6 points per game for MHP RIESEN Ludwigsburg this BBL season – so the Big Man ranks third among the best national scorers behind Karim Jallow and Dylan Osetkowski. Harris did the best self-promotion with it – and has now secured a contract with the Spanish ACB.
Harris makes use of his exit option in his contract and leaves Ludwigsburg for Spain. According to rumors, the 31-year-old Casademont Zaragoza will join DBB captain Robin Benzing.
Elias Harris left Upper Franconia in this year’s offseason after seven years in Bamberg. In Ludwigsburg, Harris took on an even bigger role and showed through his game from the post-up and in the face-up that he can be one of the most accomplished Big Man in the league offensively.
The Ludwigsburg have lost a player with a German passport, but have signed up another foreign player: Center Austin Wiley has signed a contract until the end of the season.
The 2.11-meter man will begin his professional career in Ludwigsburg after completing his college career at the University of Alabama. In his senior year, Wiley averaged 10.7 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks.
“With Austin Wiley we get a lot of defensive energy and a lot of potential, which will help us in the long term. In the short term we will give him the best possible support at his first stop overseas, ”explains Ludwigsburg’s coach John Patrick.
In addition, the Ludwigsburg Jonah Radebaugh tied to themselves until the end of the season. The guard had initially signed a tryout contract with the Swabians and convinced those responsible after two missions in the BBL.
“In my eyes he is like a young Jaleen Smith: relatively tall, with a good body and a hard gait. He has a winning mentality, ”says Patrick.
The Ludwigsburg now have eight foreign professionals in their squad. Forward Andrew Warren has hardly played a role in the rotation so far.
