EM – Monsoon weather intensifies in Arizona, flash flooding expected: live radar, updates

PHOENIX – Monsoon weather is intensifying in Arizona, and some of it is expected to move into the Phoenix metro area.

Flash flood warnings were issued for parts of Coconino and Yavapai counties in the afternoon. Meanwhile, south of Phoenix, a dust advisory has been issued in Pinal County around Interstate 8. A dust storm warning has also been issued for many parts of the Phoenix metro area until at 4:15 p.m.

In northern Arizona, City of Flagstaff officials have issued shelter-in-place for residents in the Mt. Elden Estates area as flash flooding is expected in the area.

“Shelter in place now. If you are outdoors, look for high ground now. Do not enter the drainage,” reads a brief message on Facebook.
