(ANSA) – NEW YORK, 12 GEN – The execution of Lisa Montgomery, the only woman on death row and the first sentenced to death by a federal court in the United States in more than 70 years, was blocked.
A psychiatric examination was also requested for the woman, who was sentenced to capital punishment for a crime committed in 2004.
On that occasion, from Kansas, he went to Bobbie Jo Stinnett’s house, in Missouri, pretending to want to buy one of the dog puppies that the woman, who was eight months pregnant, was selling. Once he entered, he strangled her and cut her belly to extract the girl, still alive. (ANSA).
