Politics. Emmanuel Macron is going to Eure on Tuesday to visit first the ArianeGroup site in Vernon, which manufactures rocket engines, then a pioneer farm in agroecology, following on from Monday’s summit on biodiversity. The President of the Republic will be accompanied by ministers Bruno Le Maire (Economy) and Sébastien Lecornu (Overseas) at first, then Barbara Pompili (Ecological transition) and Julien Denormandie (Agriculture and Food).

Covid-19. Olivier Véran, the Minister of Health, is heard on the vaccine strategy, before the Social Affairs committees of the Assembly (12 noon) and of the Senate (5 pm). Roselyne Bachelot, Minister of Culture, will be heard on the consequences of the health crisis for the cultural sector and its actors by the Committee for Cultural Affairs and Education of the National Assembly.

Strike. Day of strike and demonstrations in the social and medico-social sector (old age, disability, home help…) at the call of the CFDT. A demonstration of professionals from the medico-social sector is planned in Paris at the call of the union.

Death sentence. Execution of Lisa Montgomery, the first federal execution of a woman in nearly seventy years in the United States. Sentenced to death for having killed a pregnant woman in order to steal her fetus, she could become the first woman executed by federal justice since 1953. A request for clemency has been addressed to President Donald Trump by her supporters arguing that she was a victim of gang rape as a child and suffers from mental health problems.
