   CHMP Issues June 2026 Recommendations for New Drug Approvals

   The Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use met from 22-25 June 2026 to review medicinal products. The panel recommended six new drugs for approval and extended therapeutic indications for 12 others. Notable recommendations include a new treatment for chronic lymphocytic leukemia.

   What's confirmed:

   • The CHMP recommended the approval of Jaypirca (pirtobrutinib) in the European Union for adults with chronic lymphocytic leukemia across all lines of therapy.
   • The CHMP met from 22-25 June 2026.
   • The CHMP recommended the approval of six new drugs and extended therapeutic indications for 12 other medications.
   • Aujemflu, a trivalent inactivated influenza vaccine for people aged 50 or older, was recommended for approval.
   • Hopledo (levodopa / carbidopa) was recommended for adult Parkinson's patients with moderate to severe motor fluctuations not stabilized by oral levodopa/dopa decarboxylase inhibitors.
   • Onswik (insulina efsitora alfa) was recommended for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults.
   • Denosumab Ascend, a biosimilar, was recommended for preventing bone complications in adults with advanced tumors involving the bone.
