North Korea Displays ICBM as Trump Signals Possible Meeting

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un visited a defense industry museum displaying weapons including the Hwasong-20 intercontinental ballistic missile capable of reaching the United States. State media KCNA reported the museum visit occurred on Sunday, accompanied by Kim's wife Ri Sol Ju and daughter Ju Ae. The display coincides with comments from U.S. President Donald Trump indicating he might meet Kim during a planned trip to Asia. Trump is expected to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Shenzhen, China, in mid-November.

   Why it matters

The exhibition highlights Pyongyang's continued advancement and public showcasing of strategic weaponry designed to threaten the U.S. mainland. Analysts note the museum represents a broader effort to turn these weapons displays into permanent symbols of state power. Meanwhile, military authorities in South Korea and Japan reported separate ballistic missile and projectile launches by North Korea toward the sea.
