Holiday Airfares Soar to Highest Prices in Years

Why it matters
The steep ticket increases follow a costly summer travel period and reflect a broader trend of elevated pricing throughout the airline industry. Industry reports point to factors such as higher jet fuel costs and airline profits driving the historical highs. Experts warn that waiting too long to secure reservations will only lead to steeper costs and limited availability.
