Six Flags Retires X2 Roller Coaster After Brain Injury Claims

Six Flags Magic Mountain has permanently closed its X2 roller coaster following multiple lawsuits and allegations of brain injuries from riders. The park president announced the permanent retirement of the attraction, citing guest safety concerns and guest confidence. The ride featured seats that rotated 360 degrees and reached speeds up to 76 miles per hour. While more than 100 people claim they suffered injuries on the ride, the specific brain injury claims remain unproven.

   Why it matters

The closure follows a CNN investigation that exposed years of injuries and deaths tied to the attraction. X2 was an iconic ride at the California theme park known for its extreme design and movement. Park leadership stated that ride safety is a cornerstone of business operations and that action was necessary when guest confidence was affected.
