Trump says he and Putin are close to a deal about Ukraine and ‘all of Europe’
President Donald Trump stated that a peace agreement concerning Ukraine and potentially all of Europe is very close following a private White House meeting with Russian presidential envoy Kirill Dmitriev. The gathering occurred after first lady Melania Trump hosted both Russian and Ukrainian officials at the executive mansion. While Trump promoted the prospect of a major security arrangement, he provided no specific details. Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces continued strikes on Russian refineries ahead of the White House meetings, and European capitals were left puzzled by the abrupt diplomatic maneuvers.

Trump Says Ukraine Peace and European Security Deal is Near
President Donald Trump stated that a peace agreement concerning Ukraine and potentially all of Europe is very close following a private White House meeting with Russian presidential envoy Kirill Dmitriev. Why it matters
The diplomatic engagement highlights shifting dynamics as the administration pursues a negotiated settlement to the ongoing war in Eastern Europe. The unexpected proximity of Russian and Ukrainian delegations at a White House event organized by the first lady preceded the private discussions between Trump and Putin's envoy. European leaders face uncertainty regarding the emerging proposals, while ongoing battlefield actions demonstrate that military hostilities persist alongside diplomatic talks.
