Florida Tiger Attacks Man Who Entered His Precinct Without Authorization – NBC 7 South Florida

OCHOPEE, Fla. — A tiger injured a man Tuesday afternoon at a tourist attraction in Florida, according to authorities.

The attack occurred at Wooten’s Everglades Airboat Tours in Ochopee, according to Collier County police. The property offers airboat tours and visits to an animal sanctuary with two tigers, two lions, otters, turtles, crocodiles and alligators.

A keeper was feeding a tiger in his enclosure when another worker who was not authorized to be with the animal entered the premises, according to police. The tiger attacked the 50-year-old man and injured him in both arms, according to authorities.

It happened near Orlando, Florida.

The man was taken to a hospital. Authorities did not indicate what condition he was in.

The tiger’s keeper was able to safely contain the cat, according to authorities. The tiger was not injured.

A worker was injured in December by a tiger at the Naples Zoo in Caribbean Gardens after entering an unauthorized area. A Collier County police officer shot the animal when he had the man’s arm in his mouth.
